Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Others Don’t (2001)

Borrowing from Isaiah Berlin’s famous essay “The Hedgehog and the Fox” in which Berlin revisits the ancient Greek parable where the fox knows many little things but the hedgehog knows only one big thing, Collins urges business leaders to know one big thing and suggest they find it at the intersection of responses to three key questions:

  1. What could you be the best in the world at doing?
  2. What drives your economic engine?
  3. What are you most passionate about?

Excellent execution on the intersection of the three responses over time will take a company from being good to being great! Not only is it good for business leaders, it’s also good for anyone looking to go from being good in anything to being great in that one thing! Send us an email to hello@loscaídos.us
